The Bankers Club of Miami is
an exclusive venue for professionals to entertain friends and family. The bankers

Club Members,
Now that we are almost halfway through this year, I wanted
to provide you with a brief update as to the state of the Club. | |

Those of you who frequent the lunch buffet have taken note, I am sure, of the
improvements in both appearance and food creativity and quality. Not only are
the selections always varied, but our kitchen staff has worked hard to ensure
that, among those selections, are tasty heart healthy, low cholesterol and low
fat choices. It is definitely the best place in town to get a delicious and nutritious
lunch without taking hours. Given all of our busy schedules, that it a real plus.
Our staff has also changed what was perceived as a somewhat outdated
a la carte menu into a much more user friendly menu which includes sandwiches,
wraps, salads, and other lighter meals. Along with this new menu has come a new
service – take out! The Club will deliver to buildings in near proximity, whether
it be one lunch or lunch for a large group. Please keep this in mind next time
you are hosting a lunchtime business meeting or mediation.
Although
the Club has not historically been successful in luring members to after hours
and weekend events, the traditional Mothers Day Brunch was a real success, with
a huge turn-out. We would be interested in hearing from members as to their desires
with respect to such functions.
Our managers have also been improving and
updating what was a rather antiquated computer system. Through the purchase of
new software, the Club will be better able to communicate with its members and
provide better services to all.
I’m sure those of you who frequent the
Club on a regular basis have noticed the influx of new members, many of whom previously
frequented other downtown clubs. We welcome them all and hope they will enjoy
what I believe is the Club’s unique charm – an ambiance that is at the same time
warm and friendly and sophisticated and elegant. We hope that you will assist
us in keeping our membership level high by recommending the Club to your friends
and business associates who you believe would be a good fit. |

From a financial perspective, the Club has had a good turnaround in the past two
years, going from a monthly deficit situation into the plus column. This is attributable
to our excellent management, Bill Hansen and Ken Henson, who continue to work
very hard to cut our expenses and increase revenue. Special kudos must also be
given to Sylvia De La Rua , our Catering and Membership Director, who has been
instrumental in increasing both the Club’s catering and special events business
and its membership rolls.
As always, should you have any comments or suggestions
relating to the Club’s operation, please feel free to call me or any other Board
